Prespes Lakes

Prespes lakes – last stop in Greece on the Mediterranean Route for Louis and Louisa – is a stunning nature area with expanses of water that sit right on the border of three countries: Greece, Albania and North Macedonia.

The lake area is a haven for wildlife which the locals want to ensure is preserved while promoting their region as a touristic destination.
With a little help from the EU, municipalities on the Greek and Albanian sides of the lake have invested in 3 great solar panelled boats. Their ” green boats” don’t just provide them with a tailored local solution; the project has also fostered ties between neighbouring communities around the lake.
